On 30 September the City of London Corporation launched a public consultation on its Gender Identity Policy, in light of the Supreme Court decision on the meaning of “sex” last April. The City’s current policy dates from 2019. This consultation specifically concerns the bathing ponds on Hampstead Heath.
We understand this consultation does not signify that any decision on changing or maintaining the current admissions policy at the Ladies’ Pond has been made. The consultation is being hosted on the Commonplace website and responses will be analysed by an external consultancy.
We have been advised that the consultation will include safeguards against deliberate attempts to flood it with multiple/orchestrated responses by external and overseas interest groups.
The consultation will run until: 12.00 on Tuesday 25 November 2025.
